Soak in the Moment

Later this week, I will be celebrating my 49th birthday. I am excited about embarking on this new year. There are several things in the works for this year and beyond.

I am focusing on my writing career which includes creating a thriving author business. I have never been more focused on my future. As I look to the future, I dare not forget my past nor squander the enjoyment of my present.

I have a tendency to worry about what will happen and when it will happen. I believe to the point where I have forgotten to be in the moment. I recently received some exciting news. I can remember doing my best to soak in the moment. I reread the email numerous times, each time thanking God for blessing me with the opportunity. Even to this day, it still seems a little surreal to me.

One thing for certain is time passes by quickly. Remember to enjoy today as you work towards your future goals. Acknowledge your present as it will soon become your past. Try not to be overly consumed by what the future holds. Take time to stop and reflect on what is currently going on around you.

A few ways you can do this is by observing a sunrise, taking a walk, or simply taking time to acknowledge what is happening. Never be too busy that you allow the great moments in your life to slip by without you honoring them.

I pray your 2024 is filled with beautiful moments.
